Recent Accomplishment
HDCG recently concluded a two year award project from the World Bank’s ‘Nepal Development Marketplace’ where HDCG developed sustainable village-based ecotourism along the Salpa-Arun route The project provided opportunity to improve local livelihood through village-based ecotourism related activities and micro-enterprises (such as lodges, tea shops, campgrounds, handicraft sales, food and supply sales, etc.) while engaging in conservation of the natural environment and cultural heritage.
Accomplishment
The HDCG Nepal, with funding support from various donor agencies, was able to implement small enterprise development initiative through local community mobilization-such as allo processing and product development, bamboo craft, medicinal and aromatic plants conservation and utilization, and saving and credit. To sustain these small enterprises, the HDCG Nepal has been providing technical support such as market linkage, revolving fund support, supervision and monitoring activities. So far, the HDCG Nepal serves 36different groups with 15-25 members in each group.
